Using OzTAM TV ratings

OzTAM’s Television Audience Measurement (TAM) is based on actual viewing behaviour in 5,250 panel homes in Australia's five mainland capital cities - Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.

OzTAM’s TV ratings service provider, Nielsen TAM, collects and produces TV ratings data on OzTAM’s behalf.

Households are recruited to OzTAM’s television audience measurement panel via a large-scale Establishment Survey that defines the population to be represented and its characteristics, and OzTAM samples the viewing of 12,000+ real people 24/7/365.

OzTAM uses a sophisticated metering system that captures viewing to all broadcast television channels on all TV sets in panel homes.

OzTAM TV ratings, along with its BVOD measurement service for internet-delivered TV content, are key to Australia's new integrated Total TV database.

What is VOZ?

Virtual Australia, or ‘VOZ’, is the foundation of Australia’s ‘Total TV’ measurement standard. VOZ brings together broadcast viewing on TV sets and granular BVOD viewing on connected devices to provide truly national, de-duplicated, all-screen, cross platform planning, trading and reporting for Australia’s media industry.

The VOZ Total TV service delivers the primary trading currency from Sunday December 29, 2024.
