Sourcing OzTAM data

OzTAM subscribers have diverse programming and commercial objectives.

OzTAM provides a highly detailed data service and a range of options for analysis so that subscribers can scrutinise and report ratings information in the way that best meets their specific needs.

To ensure clarity of reporting, OzTAM promotes the use of clear labelling and footnoting when reporting ratings information such as audience levels, share and time bands.

OzTAM also encourages use of the  Icon Overnight  Overnight,  Icon Consolidated  Consolidated 7 and  Icon Consolidated  Consolidated 28

data symbols to distinguish between Live + As Live (Overnight); Live + As Live + Time Shift to 7 (Consolidated 7); or Live + As Live + Time Shift to 7 + Time Shift 8-28 (Consolidated 28) viewing figures.

All OzTAM subscribers access the same data and can replicate any reported figure that is correctly labelled and footnoted, creating transparency and a level analysis field for all.

Whenever OzTAM data is cited or published OzTAM must be credited as the source. Users should also note whether the referenced OzTAM figures are Overnight, Consolidated 7 or Consolidated 28, and whether they are based on Preliminary or Confirmed times. For example:
